Welcome to Mindset Monday by the Sales IQ podcast. I'm your host, Luigi Prestinenzi and I'm here to help you be the best you can be. Everyone has a potential to be the best version of themselves there can be. Sometimes things prevent us from capitalizing on that awesomeness that is sitting dormant inside of you.

This podcast is about helping you unlock your potential by focusing on one thing that can help you be the very best you can be.

I age is an issue of mind. If you don't mind, it doesn't matter. That's a quote from mark Twain. And why am I talking about that quote today? Cause yesterday I got up early to watch my team play football and the great man's lot of tiny behemoth, which 39 years of age did shit. That was insane. Incredible.

For 39 year old to pull off, he made the 20 year olds look like amateurs. Now the reality is at that age, he shouldn't be playing football. He should be. At a point of retirement, many others before him just can't get there, but it's a lot of time. He's a man that has a mindset, like no other. And he's got an incredible mindset and mindset that sales professionals can actually emulate.

And what makes him so unique? Is it, is it because he's physically a beast? Is it because he's just naturally gifted? No, it's not. Two years ago. He did his knee. Many said his career would be over. But he chose otherwise he committed to getting fitter and fitter stronger and stronger. And now at 39, he's the strongest he's ever been.

They're comparing to other athletes can comparing to the LeBron James, the Kobe, Bryant's the Michael Jordans. All these athletes share common characteristics. They are driven to succeed. They won't accept the status quo and ultimately age in their mind is not a barrier. That's going to prevent them from achieving their goals.

So think about you and your career, where are you at? Are you that apprentice? Who's looking at life with a mindset of learning, holding every opportunity of learning in the Palm of your hand, ready to embrace, or you're looking at it with a bit of a fixed mindset going, I've done this before. It doesn't work.

I've been doing sales for years, but in south for 20 years, why should I change anything it's not broken? But the reality is if we don't approach every day with the mindset, that every day is an opportunity where I can learn, I can improve my craft. I can take that extra 1% to be the best I can be. We won't survive.

In the coming years, because you've heard me say these time and time again, the world of selling hasn't changed the concept of adding value in helping people achieve a better outcome. There's been the concepts that have been standing since the test of time, but the way in which we engage is changing and technology is fast making that change occur.

And if we're not careful, we won't be around to see the opportunity at the other side. And the ones who take the opportunity and the advantage to really learn, enhance their craft, treat it like an artist would take that paint brush and practice and practice and practice and create your own art. The ones that don't do that, unfortunately not going to knock.

And so I want to take it back to his LATAN and the fact that he used his critics, he used the people around him who said he was too old and he used that for inspiration, only jury inspiration, 2020 is fast coming to an end. You got 2021 it's right there. Everything you do now from a prospecting, from a self development perspective, you probably won't see the fruits of that this year, but you will see in January and February, remember everything you do now you see a 60 to 90 day outcome from a prospecting perspective.

It's a type this opportunity. And flick your mindset. If you haven't already got that mindset as an apprentice, as a learner, as somebody who just wants to embrace the opportunity in front of them and take ownership, be that Benjamin button. And ultimately own the opportunity that sits right in front of you.

So you can be the very best sales professional you can be. Now, if this is a message that resonated for you or somebody, you know, needs to hear this. Please like rate and share this. We do this to help you be the very best you can be.
