On this weeks Mindset Monday Luigi discuss the importance of preparation and what your key focus should be to achieve success
Welcome to Mindset Monday by the Sales IQ podcast. I'm your host, Luigi Prestinenzi and I'm here to help you be the best you can be. Everyone has a potential to be the best version of themselves there can be. Sometimes things prevent us from capitalizing on that awesomeness that is sitting dormant inside of you.
This podcast is about helping you unlock your potential by focusing on one thing that can help you be the very best you can be.
By failing to prepare, you are preparing to file. That's a quote by Benjamin Franklin preparation is the key to success. When you think about it in selling in business, in everything we do the better, the plan, the better outcome we can expect. You are confident. Think about it. Competence or confidence comes from being confident.
And how are you confident? You're confident when you train, when you plan, when you prepare, when you really consider what a things need to happen in order to achieve a certain outcome, get so many people plan right before the. They're about to go into a sales meeting, say a new customer, zoom to new world order zoom.
We are zooming our prospects and we are jumping on the zoom and five minutes before we're quickly Googling them and doing a bit of research and expect a positive outcome. How can we expect positive outcomes when we don't earn the right to achieve that outcome? And this is across everything that we do.
If you're prospecting, are you prospecting at 900? And then darling at nine 30, or are you building your list beforehand? Are you doing that pragmatic research beforehand? How are you planning your day? Are you planning the night before? Are you approaching the day with intent and knowing what are the key things I need to deliver in the.
How are you doing this? Like planning is absolutely key and it's now August. So we haven't got that much time left until the end of the calendar year. And yet we've had incredible dramas. We've had incredible things that have happened to bring us to August. But the reality is we've only got a few months left and planning is what's going to enable us to sit the second half of this year alive.
And so if planning is not something that you had. That it's a non-negotiable that each night or before the end of each day, you are sitting that 15 minutes, you have that intense. To plan for the next day, then add that to your calendar, make it a non-negotiable it's like bathing. It's like sharing a Zig Ziglar said it's got to be a non-negotiable.
So my message is week is really, really clear focus. On being focused on the planning, focus on being productive and not trying to get everything done, identify the things that are absolutely key for you to achieve and plan it every single day and make that your focus make that the relentless focus that's going to enable you to achieve success.
Have your list. If you're getting overwhelmed, if you're feeling anxious. Which many people are right now, there is so much uncertainty. There's so many things outside of our control right now. The one thing that you can control is the, what brain dumping taking it all out of your head and just putting it on a piece of paper saying, this is everything that's going on.
Right. And then categorizing it. What is the absolute urgent stuff that I need to get done? And then this should be a daily, daily, daily occurrence. It should become part of your operational part of your daily rhythm for success. And when you think about it, when you look at all the high performing sales people, and it's not even about high performing salespeople, when you look at.
But the people that achieve, you know, success, uh, consistent results, they plan their time and they plan it well. So make that the focus for this week, plan it every day and make that a focus, not just for this week, but for every single week. This is what's going to enable you to achieve that 1% and turn the back end of 2003.
