Welcome to Mindset Monday by the Sales IQ podcast. I'm your host, Luigi Prestinenzi and I'm here to help you be the best you can be. Everyone has a potential to be the best version of themselves there can be. Sometimes things prevent us from capitalizing on that awesomeness that is sitting dormant inside of you.
This podcast is about helping you unlock your potential by focusing on one thing that can help you be the very best you can be.
formal education will make you a living self-education will make you a fortune. That's a quote by the legend, Jim Rome. And why is that quote so relevant today? Because the thing we sales, the thing that I love about the wet. World, the brutal world of selling is it every day is a day of learning. It's a day of education and it's a mindset that enables us to turn each day into a day of.
Or to turn each day into a day of missed opportunities. And what do I say that? Because every day we have an opportunity to practice our art, to try to improve our craft. And what do I mean by this is a thing called space repetition, where you do the same thing over and over again until the learning sticks.
But the thing we sales is it's every day's a new day. Every day is a new opportunity. Every people that we talk to, even when we use proven practices, strategies, and tactics, People are different. Yes. There are things that we can do. That'll deliver an element of predictability in the sales process. And I talk about this a lot, right?
There is predictable components of the sales process, which we can replicate and we can use to drive to achieve performance. But the key thing that we really want to take away from each day is the opportunity to. And the opportunity to get a priceless outcome. And that process outcome is that self-education is their ability to learn.
And silence is an art. It's an incredible art, it's a craft. And there are many that sights of science. And yes, I do agree that there's an element of the science in the, in the sales process. But sitting above all of that, it is a fine art. And in order to get better and better at that art, we've got to keep practicing some a message.
This week is all about approaching every single day with the mindset of being the apprentice of being someone that's approaching the day with a hunger and a thirst for Lu. And be in a sponge and absorb every element and every opportunity that's sitting out there for us to capture. Now you might go, but I've been doing this for 10 years.
I've been doing this for 20 years and that's great, but the thing is change is happening so fast. It's so rapid, you know, this year was the year that virtual selling was. Right. There are so many people out there promoting and talking about the way which you need to virtually sell in. Absolutely. Because there is technology that we can use that can enable us to create a really cool sales process, but sitting above all of that, sitting about virtual selling, you know, social selling inbound, selling, sitting above all of that is the element of learning and really taking that mindset in to.
I'm going to take each day as an opportunity to learn and practice my craft and do the same and really get that spice repetition in place so that I can really master a skill. And then when I think I've mastered it, start again, go back and go. What can I do to improve that again? And continually looking for that, that excellence that 1%, because that 1% is what's going to enable you to be the very best you can.
And that is my message. That is what I want to really drive home today. As you know, we are now in November and 2020, before we know it's going to be. Brought the opportunities that we chase, the challenges that we, that we've worked through this year, we'll be gone. And 2021, we'll be right there for the taking and the opportunity that you have to take that own it and completely crush.
The next 12 months sits in the way that you approach each and every day. And how you look at that. The premise of learning. And are open. You are to learning. It's not even about saying, yeah, I want to learn yet. I'm a learner, but it's how open you are to really own that learning so that you can be the very best sales professional you can be.
So really want you to think about, you know, how are you approaching learning and what are you prepared to do every single day so that you can capture that priceless opportunity. To develop that extra 1%. So this is a message that's resonated for you. Anyone in your network, you feel needs to hear this.
